Champions Dundee West are celebrating an impressive opening-day double as the Dundee Futsal League kicked off with a bang on Thursday night.
Last season’s treble-winners swept back to the top of the fledgling league table with an 8-0 thumping of St Andrews University and were given a welcome boost by their development team, too.
On the final game of the night, West’s second side shut out last season’s runners-up Dundee University with Mark McIntosh’s early strike enough to take the three points.
That was after Montrose also picked up victory on the opening clash of the season as they saw off new boys Dundee Celtic 3-2 in a bad-tempered clash before Dryburgh and Dundee City fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
